Saluki - Designer Decals

The ancestry and historical background of the Saluki are shrouded in mystrey and its origin pre-dates recorded history. Carvings from the Sumerian empire, created between 7,000 and 5,000 B.C., have been in excavation cites in the upper Nile region, depicting dogs virtually identical to todays Saluki sighthound. Mummified bodies of these sighthounds have also been found in burial sites. The desert tribes that developed the Saluki were nomads and took the Saluki from the Caspian Sea to the Sahara. As one of the oldest dog breeds, the Saluki is the only breed of dog which is not considered unclean in the Muslim faith.
